License Description
PROFESSIONAL LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT
Landscape architecture is the art and science of analysis, planning, design, management, preservation, rehabilitation, and integration of the man-made environment with the natural environment. Landscape architects plan and design land areas for parks, recreational facilities, private homes, campuses, and other open spaces.
Applicants for registration must complete:
a degree in landscape architecture accredited by the Landscape Architectural Accreditation Board (LAAB)
obtain three (3) years of landscape architectural experience satisfactory to the Board
pass the Landscape Architect Registration Examination prepared by the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB)
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Notarized and completed application
2. Fees
3. Five (5) professional references (three must be from registered architects, engineers, or landscape architects) - references in the CLARB record may be accepted if they meet the requirements of Rule 0120-01-.09 and are less than two years old
4. Official transcript(s) - not required if CLARB record is submitted
5. CLARB Record (comity and reapply only)
6. Continuing education documentation and expired license affidavit (reapply only)
FEES:
Exam Application Fee: $30
Comity Application/Reapplication Fee: $55
Biennial Registration/Renewal Fee: $140
Late Renewal Penalty Fee: $10 (per month or fraction of a month for six months following registration expiration date)
Duplicate Wall Certificate: $25
ADDITIONAL:
Comity applicants (applicants registered in another jurisdiction) must hold an unexpired CLARB certificate and must be currently registered in at least one other jurisdiction. Individuals who are reapplying must have been previously registered in Tennessee, must complete 24 hours of continuing education in the two years preceding reapplication, and must hold an unexpired CLARB certificate.
